The new breeding programs resulted in the Chorkie, a sprightly hybrid dog that had the soft, profuse coat and alert nature of the Yorkshire Terrier with the trainability, low shedding coat and intelligence of the Chihuahua.. The delightful Chorkie was found to be a popular, affectionate dog by new owners. Friendly and alert the Chorkie was a great success with families and children over 6 years old.
